Osmosis appoints new Chief Investment Officer, expands investment team, and names Global Head of Strategy and Client Solutions
While many asset managers are scaling back their climate commitments and sustainable investment capabilities, systematic specialist Osmosis Investment Management is stepping forward. The firm today announced the future and current appointments of five senior hires from Legal & General including Dr. Fadi Zaher, L&G’s former Head of Index Solutions, who will take up the role of Chief Investment Officer on 2 April 2026 and Colm O’Brien who joined Osmosis in September as Global Head of Strategy and Client Solutions.
Dr. Zaher will bring extensive experience in developing proprietary investment signals and systematic portfolio design and will spearhead the firm’s next phase of quantitative research and product innovation. At L&G, Dr. Zaher was responsible for the design, creation, and maintenance of proprietary strategies totalling approximately £100 billion.
Dr. Zaher will be joined by former L&G colleagues Silvio Corgiat Mecio, recently appointed Osmosis’s Head of Systematic Solutions, Jason Lee who joins on 19 November as a Quantitative Developer & Researcher and Fanggang (Royce) Yan as a Senior Quantitative Analyst. The team bring deep expertise in sustainability, factor investing, and quantitative research, further enhancing Osmosis’s factor-based research and modelling capabilities.
Former L&G executive, Colm O’Brien (former Head of LGIM Index for EMEA), will partner closely with Dr. Zaher and the investment team to connect Osmosis’s systematic research with the evolving needs of institutional clients globally.
Ben Dear, Chief Executive Officer of Osmosis Investment Management, said:
“While the current climate for sustainable investing remains politically and commercially challenging, we believe this moment presents a unique opportunity to build out our capabilities and ensure investors can navigate the complex challenges that lie ahead. These appointments are key to that commitment. The new team’s deep expertise in systematic and factor-based sustainable investment perfectly complements our strategy and supports our mission to deliver innovative, climate-aligned solutions for our clients.”
