New Faces, Same Mission. Bigger Vision.

At a moment when many asset managers are stepping back from their sustainability commitments, Osmosis is stepping up. We are investing in people, innovation, and research to build the next generation of sustainable investment solutions.

This month I am pleased to announce the forthcoming and recent appointments of five exceptional hires from Legal and General. They include Dr Fadi Zaher, formerly Head of Index Solutions and one of the industry’s leading voices in systematic and factor based investing, who will join Osmosis as Chief Investment Officer on 2 April 2026. Dr Zaher brings a rare combination of deep academic expertise, practical index engineering, derivatives knowledge, and experience leading large multi asset research and implementation teams. His leadership will be transformative as we build more sophisticated capabilities across asset classes, factor design, portfolio construction, and client solutions.

We are also pleased to welcome Colm O’Brien, who joined us in September as Global Head of Strategy and Client Solutions. Colm has spent his career at the intersection of investments, analytics, and client advisory. He has a significant track record of helping major institutional clients navigate increasingly complex portfolio challenges. His experience in designing scalable, bespoke investment frameworks will allow Osmosis to engage more deeply with clients who now require multidimensional solutions that blend sustainability, factor exposure, macro resilience, and cost efficiency.

Supporting them are Silvio Corgiat Mecio, Jason Lee, and Fanggang (Royce) Yan, who bring extensive experience in quantitative research, optimisation, index development, and the integration of objective sustainability metrics into core portfolios. Crucially, they join an already highly experienced and proven investment and research team at Osmosis. It is the combination of these new capabilities with the depth of our existing expertise that strengthens our ability to address the complexity, sophistication, and speed now required by investors. Together, the platform we are building is significantly greater than the sum of its parts.

We are also delighted to welcome Oliver Bosanquet as Operations Manager, expanding our operational infrastructure as our business scales across geographies and asset classes. His experience in building resilient and efficient operational processes enhances the foundation required for the next phase of our growth.

This expansion reflects conviction and foresight. The sustainability pressures we see today, whether environmental, social, or economic, are not temporary disturbances. They are signals of a structural transition already underway. Externalities are being recognised and priced into markets with increasing inevitability. The longer the delay, the greater the compounding effects, the larger the inefficiencies, and the more pronounced the opportunity for investors who operate with discipline, data, and clarity. In this environment, we believe the alpha opportunity within sustainable investing should expand rather than contract.

Investors are also facing more complex challenges than at any point in recent decades. They must navigate regime shifts, factor rotations, new technologies, policy volatility, and intensifying resource constraints. The next decade will require more sophisticated and integrated solutions, not simplified narratives. That is precisely why we are investing heavily in people and research. Our goal is to equip our clients with tools and insights that match the complexity of the world in which they invest.

As we expand across asset classes and regions, our mission remains unchanged. We are committed to delivering better risk adjusted returns while supporting a more sustainable global economy. Since our founding we have believed that sustainable investment must stand on the strength of its data and its financial outcomes. Our research has consistently shown that resource efficiency can enhance core portfolios in a measurable and repeatable way.

These new hires, together with our established and highly capable team, allow us to deepen our research platform, broaden our solution set, and accelerate our leadership in sustainable investment. The combination of objective sustainability data, advanced factor techniques, and disciplined portfolio construction continues to create meaningful value for our clients, and we are now positioned to take that value proposition even further.

I look forward to introducing the new team in the coming months as we organise various regional roadshows. If you would like the opportunity to hear more about our product capabilities please don’t hesitate to reach out to either myself or one of the team to organise a meeting.

Best regards,
Ben Dear
Chief Executive Officer

Our research identifies companies from the MSCI World Index that report sufficiently on at least 2 of the following 3 metrics: carbon, water, and waste, to calculate a resource efficiency score for each reporting company – the Model of Resource Efficiency. Our strategies overweight efficient companies and underweight inefficient companies within each Osmosis defined sector, to remain sector neutral to each benchmark. Companies in the Financials or REIT sectors are not given Resource Efficiency Scores due to their relatively minimal carbon emissions, water consumption and waste generation relative to other types of companies. Our strategies may select Financials/REITs for inclusion in the portfolio to maintain the portfolio’s overall factor weightings. All strategies exclude tobacco and companies that breach the UN Global Compact on social and governance safeguarding.
