Ben founded Osmosis in 2009. Prior to Osmosis, Ben launched, developed and sold two businesses in the financial sector.
Utilising the proceeds of both corporate transactions, he founded Osmosis with the intent of growing a globally recognized brand within the asset management industry, utilizing a core philosophy that sustainability and returns are not mutually exclusive. He has been Head of Distribution since 2009 and has been actively involved in product development during that period.
Andrew has 20 years’ experience, principally within financial services. Prior to joining Osmosis in 2014, he held senior finance positions in John Laing plc, as Group Financial Controller and company director and, prior to that, in Man Group plc., heading up the development of financial and regulatory reporting for the Alternative Investments business.
Other experience has included retail banking, insurance and precious metals trading and refining. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales, holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Graeme is a professional securities lawyer. He has been in the financial services industry for more than 25 years specializing in fund management in the alternative sector.
After seven years with Clifford Chance, Graeme joined Man Investments where he was one of the original directors responsible for Corporate Finance, Legal, Structuring & Compliance, developing products for global distribution. He built a pro-active compliance team responsive to multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements. He has created his own insurance business in London and maintains his professional standing as a solicitor with the Law Society.
Saad has over twenty years’ experience in quantitative analysis and fund management and more recently within the area of environmental themed investments. He worked for Credit Suisse, Buchanan Partners, Aspect Capital and Crosby Capital Partners before joining Deutsche Bank in the CROCI Investment Product team.
Saad created two environmental-based investment strategies for Deutsche, the CROCI Carbon Alpha and CROCI Carbon 100 indices. Prior to joining Osmosis, Saad worked for Trucost, an environmental data provider as their Director of Research and has been involved in extensive research around the application of environmental data within investment strategies.
Robbie holds a BSc in Geography and Economics from the London School of Economics. He has also achieved the Investment Management Certificate (CFA UK) and has achieved the CFA designation.
He joined Osmosis in 2012 and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the smart beta and low volatility strategies and has worked with clients on creating customised solutions.
Nick joined Osmosis in 2018 to oversee portfolio management activities. Nick has over 30 years investment experience, including both as a hands-on investor in equities, bonds and managing derivative books and as a “manager of managers”. Nick was instrumental in setting up a special purpose vehicle to manage hedging for the £2.1 billion Royal County of Berkshire Pension Fund.
Prior to joining Berkshire in 2007 Nick was the investment manager for the Environment Agency Pension Funds where he oversaw the transition from a traditional balanced manager portfolio to a portfolio of specialist managers across a range of asset classes.
Paul has 20 years of investment experience, and has been managing hedge funds since 2002. Paul has been managing money for the Norwegian SWF since 2010. Before NBIM he was a portfolio manager for Tudor Investments, Morley Fund Management and AXA Investment Management.
Paul holds an MSc in Investment Management from the University of Stirling, a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of East Anglia and is an associate member of both the CFA institute and the UK Society of Investment Professionals. He is based in London.
Nevelon has over fifteen years’ operational experience in fund management. Prior to joining Osmosis he worked for Harmonic Capital Partners, a global systematic hedge fund, as the Head of Operations. As part of his role he was responsible for building an institutional style operational infrastructure that was both automated and scalable.
Nevelon holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Leeds. He has also achieved the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA) and Investment Management Certificate (CFA UK).
Myriam holds a Bsc. in Finance and a Msc. in Project Management. She specialised in financial analysis and modelling and joined Osmosis Investment Management in 2014.
Before Osmosis, she worked as an Associate at Ecofi Investissements, where she was in charge of the evaluation of investment opportunities in European social enterprises. She started her career in the Investment industry while working as a Responsible Investment analyst at Vigeo Ratings and as a Fund analyst at Bloomberg.
Stefano has worked with financial institutions for over eight years to understand environmental risks in their investments and how to integrate it into existing strategies, research processes, and in the development of new products. Stefano was most recently the Head of Research at an Environmental data research company called Trucost.
He has developed a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of corporate environmental performance and disclosures. Stefano holds a MSc in Environmental Policy, Planning, and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Stefano graduated in Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
Gerrit Heyns is a co-founder of Osmosis Investment Management. He is an active commentator in the global sustainability community.
Prior to forming Osmosis in 2009, Gerrit spent more than 20 years in the Far East and Russia building and managing emerging market equity businesses for global investment banks including Troika Dialog, JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers and Kleinwort Benson. He holds a Bachelor’s degree (LSU) in Finance and a Master’s degree (Glasgow) in International Finance.
Lakshman works within the Osmosis Environmental Research Team where he specialises in resource efficiency within various industry groups.
Lakshman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham. He joined Osmosis in the summer of 2017 and works as a research analyst who also supports the portfolio managers. Prior to joining Osmosis, Lakshman worked as an analyst in the private equity firm, The Abraaj Group, where he focussed on exploring investment opportunities in emerging markets.
Tom works within the Osmosis Environmental Research Team where he specialises in resource efficiency within various industry groups.
Tom holds a Bsc. in Accountancy and Financial Management, graduating in 2016. He joined Osmosis in the summer of 2017. Before Osmosis, Tom worked as an analyst for the Private Equity firm, Connection Capital, where he gained exposure to all aspects of the investment process.
Shikhar works within the Osmosis Environmental Research Team where he specialises in resource efficiency within various industry groups.
Shikhar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from Queen Mary, University of London. He joined Osmosis during the summer 2017 after working at AON Hewitt for a year in the human resource administration team.
